An amorphous pile of fabric gradually comes to life, breathing, moulting and transforming. Shapes and creatures evaporate as soon as they appear. Bodies seem to be stitched together and unravel again. Mirage, hallucination, or simply our mind trying to make sense of the abstraction unfolding before our eyes? Conceived as a kind of performative Rorschach-test, the audience is invited to observe the way their brain interprets. This process is rooted in a phenomenon known as ‘pareidolia’: to project familiar patterns in random stimuli, like recognising faces or animals in clouds passing by. It illustrates our brains’ innate drive to make sense of our surroundings, even when faced with incomplete or ambiguous information.
